Tonight was the breaking class, which should’ve been chocked full of awesome. And while there were definitely highlights (funny pictures! sweet students & families!), mostly it was unnecessarily stressful and negative. Then I get a call from one of my computer gurus–the one who is currently in charge of Marvin’s heart and soul–and he delievers the hard news: Marvin’s pretty messed up. Like messed up to the point of uber!data retrevial, like $900 or more. And even then, I’m gauranteed nothing, I could get less than 20% of the information back.
He’s calling in a favor, having some other guy look at it to confirm the diagnosis. But pretty much, Marvin’s dead. I’ll wait to call TOD untilI hear back about it tomorrow, but pretty much I have to kiss goodbye all my website backups, my writing (MY STORIES!), my emails, my chat logs, my programs, my pictures, my graphics… LE SADNESS!
In other news, my CSS For Dummies finally got here, so when I get a working computer (both desk- and laptop are OUT OF ORDER), I will be able to join the new century. Who knows, maybe I’ll even hone some previously-undiscovered coding skills.
